New character illustrations have been revealed for an upcoming merchandise fair celebrating the anime A Certain Dark Item.
Japanese merchandise company Edith announced the collaboration, which will take place at select Animega × Sofmap stores in Japan.
The newly commissioned artwork depicts the Item cast in cyberpunk-inspired outfits. The illustrations will be used on merchandise that also offers special purchase bonuses.
Item, consisting of leader Shizuri Mugino, Takitsubo, Frenda, and Saiai Kinuhata, has become a fan-favorite group thanks to their recurring presence across Index and Railgun.
The spinoff, set roughly a year before the events of A Certain Magical Index, explores their early days and shows how the team operates before Shiage Hamazura joins them during the mainline series.
The A Certain Dark Item light novel currently has seven volumes, while the manga has two volumes released.
The newest light novel entry in the mainline series, A Certain Magical Index Genesis Testament volume 16, is now available in Japan.
Meanwhile, A Certain Scientific Mental Out continues its serialization. A fourth season of Railgun is also in the works.
