Sharing the news with a short statement on social media, Warhorse Studios acknowledged the attack, informing fans that they are working with cybersecurity specialists to both secure affected systems, and understand just what happened in the first place.

To our players and friends –

We’re sorry to share that Warhorse Studios has been hit by a cyberattack. We’re working with cybersecurity specialists to secure our systems and understand the full extent of what happened.

Thank you for standing with us.

– Warhorse

While there hasn’t been any specific information released from the attack so far, the studio and fans are likely concerned about information surfacing as a result of the attack. We’ve seen it before when video game creators are attacked in this manor, with unfinished builds, concept art and more becoming public in a way that was never meant to be.

Indeed, we already know that Warhorse are hard at work on several projects that have many gamers excited. Beyond more adventures in their own Kingdom Come franchise, they’ve publicly confirmed they’re also working on a Middle-Earth/Lord of the Rings game. No-one benefits from seeing that before it’s ready to be seen, and fingers crossed Warhorse have promptly stopped the attack.

For now, we’re waiting on further updates to the Warhorse team.
