Where to sell the Skull Mask in Zelda Ocarina of Time
First things first, Ocarina of Time's Skull Mask will only become available at the Happy Mask Shop in Hyrule Castle Town after you have kicked off the Mask quest and managed to sell the Keaton Mask on behalf of the Happy Mask Shopkeeper. (For what it's worth, the buyer of this mask is found in Kakariko Village!)
Once that's done, the Happy Mask Shopkeeper will give you the option to hire and sell the Skull Mask, and explains that it has a going rate of 20 Rupees.
Now you need to find a buyer for the Skull Mask, and the clue is in the name when it comes to who'd like to purchase it: the Skull Kid in the Lost Woods.
To track him down, enter the Lost Woods via Kokiri Forest then go through the first tree trunk on your left. In the next area, you should see the Skull Kid standing on top of a large tree stump. Stand on the smaller tree stump in front of him with the Skull Mask equipped and he'll soon wander over and request to buy it.
Sell the Skull Mask to him and he'll pay you 10 Rupees, which is 10 Rupees short of the mask's going rate. That means you'll have made a loss on this particular sale, but don't worry. See the Mask quest through to the end and you'll recoup these lost gems!
After selling the Skull Mask, go back to the Happy Mask Shopkeeper and hand over 20 Rupees. He will then reveal the Spooky Mask for you to sell next.
How to use the Skull Mask in Zelda Ocarina of Time
Once you've sold the Skull Mask, it'll be available for you to borrow from the Happy Mask Shop whenever you wish as both Child Link and Adult Link.
In the original game, masks can only be worn by Child Link. As of the Switch 2 remake, these masks can also be worn as Adult Link!
The Skull Mask also serves two more purposes other than making you look a little scary. Firstly, if you make your way to the Forest Stage in the Lost Woods (which you can access via a Secret Grotto hidden in the meadow area that's not far from the entrance to Sacred Grove) and stand on the tree stump there with the mask equipped, the Deku Scrubs will be impressed.
Speak to the Business Scrub here after showing off the Skull Mask and he'll reward you with the Biggest Deku Sticks bag upgrade!
Secondly, the Skull Mask will also prevent Keese and Guay enemies from attacking you as long as you're wearing it, which can be quite useful in a pinch.
That's all for the Skull Mask. For more on Link's adventure in Ocarina of Time, take a look at where to find all Heart Pieces, where to find all Gold Skulltula Tokens, and all Great Fairy locations.
